  • Vid Of My New Anderson Hollow Drop Top/Mesa Subway Rocket

Not the best of quality (mostly with the sound) but, my friend's goal is get his video setup to point of broadcast quality. You Tube compresses a lot he says. The guitar's top looks grainy and IT IS NOT Please excuse any and all clams, he borrowed me for experimenting, didn't know he was going to post it up on youtube :o

Amp was my Mesa Subway Rocket direct via its recording output.

Cool! Great sound and technique! I can hear the compression, but it still sounds great.
Tone is like Art: Your opinion is valid. Listen, learn, have fun, draw your own conclusions.

Thats funny you said that Endrik.. before I read your post I was thinking the very same thing as I was listening to this.

            Good note choice and control.

            Beauty of a guitar btw.

Thanks guys. The Subway Rocket is like a great sounding Mark IV quarter stack in a tiny 1X10 combo! Blues Saraceno... huh, you guys are way too kind... I unfortunately have none of his CD's, only a cassette which I haven't been able to listen to since I moved to NJ almost 7 years ago.

Very nice! Smooth, fluid, & tasty. I liked your other clips with the PRS, too.

Thanks but, I want him to take one of the 2 PRS clips down... I think only 1 minute of the 4 minutes is actually bearable... SUPER YUCK! The one that says guitar solo 1 is actually okay... too much wanking though and the SLOPPY rendition of Akira's Running for Cover solo from 3:08 to 3:24 doesn't help either.

it's funny, the Blues, Howe & Gambale comparisons. The one name that kept popping into my mind watching you play was Vernon Reid. Heard any of his fusion stuff with Masque? The progression, your tone & note selection reminded me a lot of him. Very nicely done, man

Great clip! I really enjoyed that and you're one hell of a player. I'm curious about your settings on the Rocket - care to share?

                        Beautiful guitar, btw.

Didn't see some of these comments earlier, sorry:

The backing track was one of the tracks from GC's King of the Blues backing tracks disc (earlier this year). I'll burn it to mp3 and email it to you if ya want it

Thanks, you're way to kind though! What my Subway Rocket settings were that particular day, I don't remember but, I'll give you the settings I use now which are I think slightly better with both the regular lead mode and the contour mode...

Rhythm Gain 3 (for cleans--not heard on the vid)
                            Lead Gain 7
                            Treble 7
                            Middle 4
                            Bass 5
                            Presence 6.5

Contour was off in the vid, just regular lead mode. The direct sounds better, well, direct. It went thru mixer then a video monitor, than recorded on a VCR. Degrade the sound quite a bit.
