    MTS 'brown' module I modded for a guy clip - VH content

    Modded a brown MTS module for a guy on the MTS board... here's a clip of it done real quick and dirty:

    reverb was post recording, gain was at noon, so was volume on module, RM100 w/EL34s barely cracked open - it was low enough that my wife was watching TV with no issues with a door open in the next room.
    I know I clammed it a bit, but what the heck, one take and all. I also plugged it into a cheap-o Peavey 4x12 with stock sheffield speakers, whatever they are. One SM57, M-audio audiobuddy, stock soundcard on HP tower.

    Very nice Pete..yer gettin' much closer..keep it up bro..I can definitely work with that!!!!

    But I MUST post this..as a reference!

    Recorded live in '97 with a Marshall JMP-1 and a Peavey 120/120 w/ 6L6 ..and a Peavey cab loaded with 80 watt celestions.

              No I can't mod a damn thing .. that's your job silly!

              But I did put put Tung Sols in my Uberschall..look at me go!

              Yeah, we did VH right..we lived, ate and pooped Van Halen for years!

              Maybe they should hire me to play bass instead of Wolfie..or get Mike back..that's the right thing to do!

              Keep it up Pete..we are on similair paths in our quest for tone..I do VH with my Uber..it just sound like a "metal" version of the old brown sound..to me!

              John is stuck in the brown zone too..no matter how he attempts to "metalize" it..we seem to come from the same school!

                    Rich actually auditioned for VH..it made the local papers..it was right when Tim joined Preist.

                    Tim got in because he could do Rob.

                    Rich didn't because he could do Dave..

                    Then we were going to be Daves back up..but he bailed to Vegas after his DLR with John 5 was a bust..then popped up with the Atomic Punks..whom we could smoke on our worst day..

                    Irony.. that guitarist joined Rob in Fight, and he's good but our "band" was better ..truth be told.

                    Pete's pretty good with the VH..I could grab our ol' singer and drummer and we'd do pretty good...but Rich isn't permitted to sing Rock N Roll anymore because he's a reborn again Christian..and VH is not Christ-like.. :ROTF:

                              Awesome. Just goes to show you that the magic is in the fingers, not the boutique guitar. Not that I don't try to compensate for my lack of talent by buying nice stuff, though.

                              By the way, it's not the VH1 mutt you built a long time ago is it?
