  • Me trying to shred some Vinnie Moore... (YouTube)

I'm not a huge fan of shredding but there are some songs that are really cool. Vinnie Moore's The Maze is one of them. This is my sloppy attempt at it...

My band: http://www.diceoffate.comI'm mainly a rhythm player but this is such a cool song that yesterday I decided to learn it from tab. There are some mista...

I love the arpeggio stuff that starts at around 1:19.

That was very good man, Vinnie has very similair phrasing as Tony Mac...IMO.

Nice guitars, and is that a silver Jubilee Marshall stack back there..cool.

"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
    Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

Thanks! It's a bit sloppy cause I had just learned the song. I could play it with more conviction now.
And yes - 50w silver jubilee. My main amp for the past 6 years or so.

I also think Vinnie is very similar to Tony. They both use classical stuff and combine it with more Vai/Satriani style modes. They both have great articulation too. I just think they both need some help in writing songs. I get easily bored listening to their records. The Maze is an exception though.

Nah man, you established you can dupe that stuff pretty damn good. I never had the dicipline to learn other people's music, besides bass lines for covers and my VH trib.

I love writing my own stuff..

You gotta do what you love..or what's that point.

        Good job man

Lots of talent on this board..

Pretty cool! Congratulations. Killer guitars also...
It'd be nice to hear it/see it without Vinnie Playing in the background.

                  Thanks!
I'll try to find a backing track for it. It won't sound as good without Vinnie though.

I once had a "Heartfield" by Fender that part of some promo signed by Vinne Moore and saw a guitar clinic with him.

ps: You guys know this? He once played guitar for a Pepsi commercial
