Splawn Modded 800 Clip!! (Slayer)

First off thanks to the person who posted the backing track for this song in the back track sticky at the top of this page.

Here is a clip that me and my bud Seth did earlier Last night of Seasons In The Abyss. We did it using my Jackson SL2H with an EMG 81 pickup and my VHT cab miked using the bottom left V30. 1 track was plugged straight in to the amp and the other had the gain set back with an SD-1. I love the way this amp records. I am going to dial in VH tomorrow with the amp and am also going to get another Engl Blackmore clip up.

I must say, you sure do post some kick ass stuff.

You pretty much completely nailed the Slayer tone. It's official, I NEED a JCM800 w/Splawn mod.

Thanks again for checking out my clip Demonicon. The amp also nails early VH tones Lynch etc it's pretty versatile and has a Rhythm /Lead channel and also a solo boost. Its a killer amp all around and I couldnt be happier.

Very cool tune. This amps sounds great.

On the clean part could it be that there is some minor volume difference ? Somethings i think it gets a little hard to hear.
But that's really only minor [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

Ive got a late 80s JCM 800 50watt 4010 combo.. can this be splawn modded??

And where in the uk does these mods?

At the mo i use ESP les paul w/emg 81s > sd1 > amp in a zakk wylde stylee, but i need more gain and growl.

lol ****, I wanted to record this song today with that same track, but I've lost all hope! Awesome tone! I can never manage to get a decent sound out of mic'ing my amp and when I try to plug in directly it sounds like ass ... Approximately what kind of settings/(other gear?) did you use to get that tone? I'll try it on my amps to see how close I can get.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The gear I used is listed in my 1st post. I use a Sennheiser MD421 II Nic and an HHB Radius 50 Mic Preamp into a Fostex Mr-8. The exact setting's on the amp I really dont remember. Sorry
