• New one - guess who the inspiration is?

Ok, here's one I did recently (September or October - can't recall now )

I just started with a preset on my SR-16 and laid down a bass track to it, then put the guitar on.
It's interesting to do it that way rather than try to come up with a guitar part first, as you can lock into the bass' groove and play around it instead of feeling constrained by a pre-arranged guitar part

So who does it kinda remind you of?

Thanks
Can't say I was aiming for Santana per se, but I'm happy with the way it came out

Oops, forgot to add a gear list (gotta pimp those Jacksons )

-Guitar - JacksonStars NASL
-Bass - Jackson Professional Concert 5
-Drums - Jackson...eerrrrrr...Alesis SR-16

Very cool, NewC. I like that laid-back groove. It is kinda Santanaesque, but that's definitely a compliment. Really good soulful feel to it.

It reminds me a little of AudioSlave for some reason. The lead guitar tone has a Schenker sound to it.

I thought Santana as well.. sometimes a little Satch, but the groove was cool. I was enjoying the rhythm playing.

I like the "floating minor groove" in it...

Nice. Very Santana-esque. I like all the pinch harmonics.

That was righteously groovy, bro. I liked it so much I put it on one of my mix cd's for the car.
