• My first song...

Hi everybody, I just want to know your opinion about the first song I wrote and record with my band:

CONSPIRACY

If the link doesn't work just "right click save destiny as" and if that doesn't work either plz let me know (I have had several problems with the link)

The band's website is www.angst.cl

Every opinion will be welcome...

Re: My first song...

Your link works now

A little too repetitious for my liking but that's just my opinion.
Vocals need to be more on top
needs more variation mabey a meter change here and there.
All in all a good idea, I think I would condense it down a little bit and and bring the guitars up when they solo

Sry for my ignorance but what does it mean to "condense it down a little bit and and bring the guitars up when they solo"???

Thanks

For those that the link don't work, here is another one:
CONSPIRACY

The same as before, if it doesn't work with a click, do "right click save destiny as".

Thanks

Re: My first song...

By condensing it down I meant to keep the parts you like the most and shorten the overall length of the piece,or shorten some of the movements or passages of musical ideas into 4,8 or 12 measures.
This will help to move the tune through different feelings or aspects and allow it to breath.
By bringing the guitars up I mean to make them louder when they solo, or do fills between changes and then lower the volume on them to a more even level when it goes back into the main part of the song. There are really no rules in rock and by all means do what feels right and good to you.

Agreeing with Outlander.

The mix could use a bit of work. Guitars are a bit too loud. Could use some EQ tweaks and compression/limiting... especially on the vocals. I can't hear the vox over the guitars

Groovy solo. The change at ~5:00 is good.

Where are you guys from?

You're on your way though! Keep 'em comin'.

A bit of work on the mix and i reckon your band will do well.

Re: My first song...

Sounds good. The first 2/3rds are about 10-15 beats per minute too slow, and when the tempo and feel jumps up near the end, it, too would sound better 10-15 bpm's faster.
It needs a better mixdown, too.

I hate being critical, but I guess that's what this forum is for?

Overall, that's pretty good recording, and great playing too.
