This was recorded last November but I never got around to posting it. Critiques welcome, but it's only so so to begin with. I'm assuming the mix is ok, I probably checked it at the time.

    Mark

are you tapping over the top on the intro? Sounds a little Jordan

I always like your stuff. The mix is a liitle dry on this but sounds good.

      Re: leftovers

Hey Kev, what are you up to these days?? Hope all is well.

The intro is just a 3 tracks of regular guitar. I recorded it with a Fender strat bridge pickup and some very tinny dry setting on the POD. It was supposed to have a "carnival of the mad" ugly kind of sound. For some reason. It seemed cool at the time I guess but I forget what the point of it all was now. I find the tones of this track to be kind of grating in some places (unintentional). But I don't think it's one of my better efforts overall anyway, but I figured hey I'll post it, maybe someone will like it!

When are you going to post???

It sounds familiar which is odd since you've never posted it.

          Re: leftovers

Steve: thanks, glad you liked it, thanks for the compliment. I never thought of myself as creative especially, but I do find it easier to write stuff (complete something)now more than back in the band days. I probably used to overthink or try too hard or look too hard back then. Now I am more content with the idea that anything can be worked into a bit of music somehow, you don't have spend your time looking for the riff to end all riffs etc. I am not reinventing the wheel, or doing anything really new or interesting, so I have never viewed myself as creative as I say, maybe it is a task -like outlook of just completing something for the sake of it, amusing myself etc. That is an interesting topic actually, I wonder what others on the board have to say about writing and creativity or whatever in general.

Hey Free!!! Now that I think about it, you have heard it before just right as I was almost done with it. I linked to it while we were in chat one day. That was a while back, and then I just never bothered to post it. Strangely familiar indeed!

You should think of yourself as creative, you are. This is a good composition.

I have been working much and never got my home recording started. Once I get thru my home reno and guitar building projects I will be loading up on software and emailing you for recording advice...

              Re: leftovers

I liked it. I'm not that creative so I respect players that are. Couple of highlights for me:

The "backward" guitar in the middle. Very cool effect and fits nicely.

The "shred" part at the end. I liked the tone and the playing is precise.

              Keep it up!
