A lil' bit of self promotion...

Hello everyone,

I'm posting the first full official recording of my band Blare.

The song title is "Undone".

On that track, I done a "Kirk Hammett" of myself because I only recorded the solos. My band done everything at my singer's house and I recorded the lead at home.

Drums were recorded with a MIDI drum kit but played by our drummer.

I don't like much the "middle harmony solos" I did. To my ears it sounds too much like a violon! I will probably re-record it soon.

Let me know what you think of this recording. We have 7 originals now and we are planning recording all of them in the same way we did this one.

So I listened to "Trapped in my head" and I have to say... It's fucking solid dude! I don't know where you get your Kirk Hammett self-criticism from, I'd say your use of rather exotic scales (in the first solo before the second verse) puts you more into Marty Friedman territory! And that's a good thing.

The purist metalhead in me would write this off as rather commercial sounding, it has that Godsmack or Disturbed-esque groove simplicity and there's a breakdown in the middle... but it still rocks. Good work!

Thanks for the good comment! Being compare to Friedman is a very nice compliment even if I'm way way behind his guitar talents!

The "Kirk Hammett" reference I did was because I did not record anything except the leads! I had read this long time ago that that Kirk was doing this Metallica.
