  • Echoes of Life album preview - When the Freaks Come to Feed!

The first single off our upcoming debut album 'Echoes of Life' is up on our site at www.thethirteenthhour.com - When the Freaks Come to Feed

This is definitely one of the least 'thrashy' songs off the album, it's the one we've decided to market to the masses. Let me know what you think!

\m/ Puzzlebox is the opening track of the album, it fuckin' rips. We recorded it at live speed. I take it you've heard us before?

Ack, forgot about this for a while. Yeah man, we should have more clips (maybe not full songs though) up on the website soon. We'll definitely make sure we get some of the more technical thrash driven stuff up there. Soon as that bad boy is mixed and ready. Thanks for the comments on Freaks everyone, I do appreciate it!

my god, this is freakin awesome!

excellent production, and that guitar sound is spot on!

                  minor thoughts:
I hear some compression pumping in the mix, but man that song is GREAT. i think the kick drum is just a teeny weeny bit too clicky, you can really hear it during double bass. a nice touch was having a nice heavy bass guitar sound, without that nu-metal treble. not sure why the rhythm guitar goes mono during the chorus?

I made a rock n roll sin when I tried giving in to make money, had to turn down low.

Well hell, I'll take that review any time! Thanks man, glad you like it. Didn't notice the mono thing though, maybe it just sounds different because we jump up the octave in the choruses or something, I don't know. But yeah, I'm very happy with the production, we worked with some great guys on this record (John Blanchard and Gary StClair of Imagine Recording). Gary is the mastermind behind that 90's pop band 'All 4 One', so he's got plenty of production chops under his belt, and John is just an amazing engineer, even though he's younger than us. They make a killer team.

indeed the chorus sounds mono because of the octave thing...clever...I want the CD!
