• some clean Vai, Satriani, VH, etc clips...

Amp is the 2xEL84 I recently built. Based on a matchless spitfire, but with some of my tweaks and mods. Here's pretty much the 'final product' - now I just need to finish designing my faceplates and some built.

I love the way this amp compresses a bit and isn't real 'solid state' sounding. The mic didn't really capture the warmth of the tone, but I don't think it's bad. One SM57 on a 2x12 open back cab with Classic Lead 80s. From there into a behringer ultragain pro mic preamp into my PC. I did add a little reverb on some of the tracks, but that was it. No EQ or other changes. Guitar used was a Charvel USA strat w/warmoth birdseye/birdseye neck that I've had for sale for awhile... was tuning it and forgot how good it sounded.

Started off as Spanish Fly (check out the harmonics) and then mutated into hot for teacher intro since I forgot the tapping part to spanish fly. I kinda forgot the tapping part to hot for teacher also, but what the hell.

The Satriani thing

A little bit of 'sisters' off the P&W album

Me snapping the hell out of the strings, seeing if I could make the amp distort. Nope.

Me doing this weird tapping thing with both hands that I've played for years. Almost sounds like there's a delay on it, but there isn't.

The amp sounds really nice. Not muddy at all. I'd call it 'pristine' it's so clean.
You're playing is awesome, too. Good match for the amp.

I think that's the next song i want my guitar teacher to teach me.

Very cool. Tapping is something I've dipped into slightly, but after hearing your clips, I think I might want to seriously work at it.
