• My Dokken Cover

I've been working on this Dokken cover "In My Dreams" for 3 hours now and have a good rough draft ready. The drum tracks were sent to me and are great. I layed down 2 rhythm tracks, rough fills, and the solo which was a B**ch This is the first time I've ever played this solo so please be kind. I'm in NO way suggesting that I play anywhere near like George Lynch (I wish), but I think its a good cover anyway. I need to "tweak" some levels here and there but its decent. Here's the link page:

I don't have a band right now so this is my outlet and it's alot of fun. I'm working on an original also.

Let me know what you think????????

The file is windows media (smaller file size) for dial up users.

Nice tone as well, where did you get the backing track from sure would love that one.I'm a huge Lynch fan and whenever I hear anybody doing his stuff is always cool in my book. Kammo1

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thanks man, I just use line 6 guitar port amp & effects straight into the PC. The software is Guitar Tracks Pro (just a basic edition). I recorded that with my Jackson JSX-94 Concept. I'm an amateur at recording/mixing but I get better every time I do it. It's a great way to improve my playing until I can get another band together.

That was sweet bro, you did a great job. I think that is one of the best Dokken songs, along with the Hunter, Tooth and Nail, and Standing in the Shadows. I'm sure it was fun to put together. It is fun to do covers and record them, as I have discovered also. Great playing, post some more.

I appreciate the comments guys!, gotta tweak some things tonight.

Ax, I just tried the link and it still works on my end. The wmv format was only 1.8 megs so it should download quick. I have dialup at home and can relate to the frustration of downloading huge files.

                          Re: My Dokken Cover

I had to 3 finger tap the 12-15-19 note part of the solo, but Lynch actually does a hammer/pull on it! Incredible. He also does "touch" harmonics at the beginning of the solo, but I just pinch the harmonics. Maybe with better pickups I could achieve the touch harmonics.

                          Thanks for the unput.

I FINALLY got it! Had to come back three or four times.

                            Worth it.

                            Awesome.

p.s. Who sent you the drums, and how was it done? Is it a real kit?
