p.s. Who sent you the drums, and how was it done? Is it a real kit?
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thanks! JFC'er (sithgt6) sent it to me. It sounds like a real kit to me. The tracks sound alot better in my program but to save file size and cut down on playback noise, I had to sacrifice some volume in the mix, therefore losing some of the "Balls" in the drum sound but I'm going to re-mix it all with the drum track volume up a bit and the mains cranked up some. If saved as a wav file, the size will be around 40 megs!! I can get an Mp3 size of about 4 megs though. WMA format is about half that. I don't have the track uploaded so I can't link it here but I can send it to you later.

      <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I did -- and I don't know.

Got i from a relatively new community board site here:

      http://www.guitarbt.com/

There's LOADS and I mean LOADS of stuff there from Satch to Via to ZZ Top to ACDC to just basic jam-along tracks in different keys.

      But there's a catch.

You need to register and post within the boards - get your count over 100 (no spamming) before you get access to unlimited downloads. Currently there are 3 group levels -- up to 20 posts gets I think 20 dl's per 24 hours (THE WHOLE GROUP), up to 50 is 100 dl's (again, THE WHOLE GROUP) and over 100 of course is unlimited. If you contribute tracks for the boards, you move up the chain faster - and there's more tracks for everyone.

They're still working out bugs and you can donate to help with server costs but other than that -- IT'S FREE!!

I just joined there, it's kinda weird, you have to pay homage to the guy that started it...egocentric???

Gus has done a great thing over there, I've thanked him many times for what he started -- but I don't understand what you mean by egocentric

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Thanks Man, The version I have is very simple to use, its like 2.0 and I'm a total rookie with this recording and mixing thing. I learned by trial and error. I plug my guitar into Line 6 guitar port and connect to PC with USB. GT has all the built in effects and amps to choose from. I get better with each song I record.

If you tell him how great he is then you get to download faster...hmmm. I don't understand the whole thing myself. Why do you have to wait so long to be able to get a track? Why can the GROUP only get a total number of tracks in a specified period fo time???

Its a great way to improve your playing.

I think they were just trying to find a way to stop people from running in a grabbing everything and leaving -- like any board, they're trying to build a community. Some of the posters over there work hard to make the tracks and IMO those that do just take and not give or at least make an attempt a contributing (posting) in some way are the ones that cause sites like it to fail.
