• Blues2 - my second of the blues noise

This is the second cut off the blues backing track I have. I submitted the first a few months ago. This one was recorded with my new SL2H.

Blues2

If you missed Blues 1 here it is.
Blues

They are kinda silly but they were fun to do.

My humble opinion is:

Blues #1

The mix sucks arse!

You should try some new patches or something coz' the ones you're using ruin the whole vibe.

Guitar stuff is pretty nice, but too predictable and sometimes a little out of tune. Sweeping arpegios doesn't seem to mix quite well with the tune.
Sound changes are too harsh, it's kind of weird when they came.
Nice licks!

Keep in mind that i don't wanna be a pain in the ass, just telling it like it feels to me.

Blues #2

It has a better feel. What happened to the volume? It's from the basement?
Nice dubbing on some parts. Your playing fits more into the song. Maybe you could try some pauses between phrases, this is the same as speaking. If you talk to much, you end up boring the listeners.

Keep posting dude, i always like to listen and learn what other players have to offer.

Any complains, please write to my lawyer

Rodrigo.

P.S. Edited for spelling coz' i suck!

Im not offended, I wanted a little feedback good or bad. Actually after I did this song I decided my pod must go. i hate the thing. If i get a sound i like it feedback uncontrollably.
Thanks for the comments.

So you use POD, i heard good comments about it in the past...

Besides POD, how did you record the track? Maybe i can help you a little with that part.

Cheers!

Re: Blues2 - my second of the blues noise

well, I'm pretty lazy, I havent read the manual, so i just turn the amp model knob and the effect knob till i hear something that works. problem is I cant find a sound that works.

Anyway I have a mia echo sound card into a hyperthread system with a gig of ram. I live in an apartment so most of my recording is done with headphones. I have a Peavey triumph 120 tube amp but, it takes too much volume to get a good sound. (besides i have 2 wild children (mic ing is out of the question). I use Sonar cakewalk software. thats about it.

If you have a good sound card, let's say with ASIO drivers, you could try VST Instruments, there are some really nice Virtual amps in this field.

Amplitube
Warp
Green Machine II
Guitar Amp Legends

We used Amplitube on the RR1 and Warp on the DX2 to record our version of Morning Star.

You will not regret it.
