  • My band - Memories Of A Madman

Well I'm in year 12 and we had this thing at school called 'The Kool Skools Project' where a bunch of schools go to the studio and record songs that are released on a school CD, each school having their own album. So individual artists or bands at each school compose songs and record. Ok that story is over now... Anyway, I composed the song late last year by myself but my drummer (who is the only other member who is a year 12 student, the rest are year 11s) obviously composed the drumming part since I suck at writing drum tabs on Guitar Pro (where I made the song while coming up with each part with the guitar sitting on my lap... Which was a Jackson JSX-94 Concept... giggidy giggidy)... We recorded it and added extra things to the track whilst recording it... We also did another song which was an instrumental, with a pianist from our school too, but we haven't got ahold of it yet... We've been in the top 10 metal charts for a radio station in Australia called Triple J... We were #3 for a week and are currently #5.

Well anyway, enough crap, please listen to the song, you can add us on myspace too if you'd like and even rate/review for us on the radio station website...

Btw, I hate the vocals (the rhythm guitarist did vocals on this track because we had trouble with the lead vocalist... I'm lead guitarist)... and the band name is Memories Of A Madman, originally meant to be Diary Of A Madman as tribute to Ozzy...

Sometimes someone will say something sucks and people will just fall in right behind them. I think the whole thing is cool (all of it), someone even said the bass was too simple. There are some songs that Les Claypool doesn't need to play. I thought the solo was cool with the 9ths and the tapping. There are some really shitty singers making millions because of technology.

Talk about people singing perfect, I was FORCED to listen to a cowboy station the other day and almost busted out laughing. Cheating Mutha F'ers This is a must read before you are too hard on your singer. http://www.nashvillescene.com/Storie...ls/index.shtml
