Don't try to feed me your bullshit, you posted that crappy comment AFTER you knew it wasn't a joke!

And yes you've done this to many many others, it's the way you are, I understand that, you have an ego problem, and you come across like you know everything.

I did say fuck their perception and I meant it, it's what someone wants to do, not for you to judge if it's "pro" enough for you, or that it's "substandard" on a fucking message board on the internet. This ain't American Idol dude. Get over yourself.

He liked it and wanted to share, and seemed genuine. And you guys gotta rip on him. Like I said you've done this to others, so don't give me that "he's a pro" line of bullshit.

I like how you say this shit -- "You need to be a pro in every respect of your business." After you tell the guy his posted song was "gay unprofessional dribble". Who's being unprofessional, eh?

Yet you say I offended you? Shouldn't have been such an asshole and maybe, just maybe you wouldn't feel so offended on the internet.

A hippie? LOL, I type like one? Not sure what you mean , but no, I'm not a "hippie"...

And I never said you don't have the right to speak your opinion, now you're just making shit up, I said he has the right to ignore it, and you should feel ashamed for the way you came across. Have your opinion all you want, it's a free country BUT don't expect to not be called on it either, you see it works both ways.

BTW, there are a couple of let's say METAL GODS - Marty Friedman and Alex Skolnick who have both done some really insane solo stuff that has nothing at all to do with metal, and to me personally seem really weird and out of touch with that thing, but do you honestly think for one minute that people want them to start "flipping hush puppies at Long John Silvers" or has hurt their "metal image" ? Shit, those guys rock no matter what kinda weird stuff they do on their own.

" FUCK their perception. Don't play for people like that, do your own thing man." Thats the attitude and work ethic that will get you NOWHERE in this business.
Glad you weren't around to give that advice to Jimi Hendrix, and glad he didn't listen to the ones who said similar things...

"I'm the one that has to die when it's time for me to die, so let me live my life, the way I want to. "

You are an asshole too. I'm not the only one. And to rebutt. I did think it was a joke. I was the first one to respond to his original post.
Because Blazer is in a metal band recording a debut album and about to embark on a European tour I figured the song was a joke. It was wrong on so many levels I thought it was posted in the same vein as that guy who posted The Final Countdown played on the Kazoo. I laughed because it was intentionally recorded like crap. I thought that Blazer's recording was the same thing. Then.. some of you assholes came down on me. Well... you can fuck off.

But you called it "gay unprofessional dribble" AFTER he said it wasn't a joke. There is no excuse for that. You have the vocabulary of a 14 year old, which is rather sad.

                Well... you can fuck off.

I find it hilarious that someone with such a horrible attitude towards fellow musicians in this community has to come out busting others balls like you know it all. Please.

                So this :
Trust me on this. I have been there and done that back in the 80's. It was aweful and cost me a great band that I was in and a world tour that I possibly could have been on.
leads me to think was from you attitude, if anything. All I know is that if you were in my band I would throw you out on your ass just for your shitty attitude alone.

You always come across as this bitter person to others, maybe it's time to turn over a new leaf and be supportive to others for a change?

As far as I'm concerned, JG definitely has an ego problem and has belittled posters here more than once, which is why I piped up in the first place. His comments were uncalled for and even though he tries to cover his tracks saying he thought the song was a joke, I don't believe him either. I also think its funny that he called on Bill to try and help him out with his argument

What if I posted some "tough love" about his band and said that they have a boring presentation on stage, are too old to make a dent in the national scene, the songs aren't really all that exceptional unless we are judging it against average local bands that you can see in any big city (most of which are not good), and his solos that I've heard are bland? I wonder how he would take that? Instead of keeping the piece, I think I'll do that from now on. I'm curious how that will play out...

Blazer, I agree with EVOL... if you like it and want to share, then by all means do it. Don't let an egomaniac like JG and his comments stop you from doing what you love doing.

As far as calling out for Bill. You betcha. I can use the help. Its me against all the candy asses who are busting my balls on this thread... most of which didn't hear the song because Blazer came to his senses and took it down.
You are correct Evol... I did call it gay dribble after Blazer responded. Again.. I thought he was just screwing around. If you recall.. he asked me if I could record and play all the parts like he did. I took that as a joke because I assumed that he knew who he was talking to. Obviously he didn't because I learned he was serious when he responded. Thats when I tried to leave it alone,.. but of course.. on the JCF, all the candy asses who don't know shit came out to crucify bitter old washed up Johnny G.
Well.. I got news for you bro's.. I am not washed up. Not by a long shot.
I am playing and writing better material then I ever have and thats after 30 fukking years of writing, performing and recording metal. I may be bitter.. and I certainly am an old fuck... but I still rock out with my cock out and will stand toe to toe with any player on the planet except for Uli Jon Roth.
Now.. please.. lets drop this shit. I can't take the abuse anymore. If you want an apology to make this go away.. I'm sorry. I won't say anything bad about any music posted here again even if its constructive criticism because it will most likely be turned around as just bitter bashing by yours truly.

Funny how you feel the need to call musicians who are trying to be supportive of other musicians "candy asses". Maybe you should bend over and take a lick of your own before you try to insult others with that remark.

And there it is. Blazer, this is the reason to ignore the negative, childish, seemingly jealous comments this "rock god" makes over the internet. This is why I say not to try to play to impress other musicians, ESPECIALLY guitar players. He thinks he's god's gift to this planet. Wow, aren't we all in awe?

Dude, you seriously need your ears (or head) examined. From what I've heard, you are mediocre at best.

If you've had half of the opportunities you say you've had due to your amazing virtuoso talent and are still some obscure local guitar player that spends his time on a guitar forum rather than filling arenas (from what I remember you have a hard time filling local rock dives too, but that's another thread), hasn't it ever occured to you that your shitty attitude might play a role in your lack of success as a musician?

My comment regarding never being thrown out of a band and being "that good" were jokes. You just don't get it do you. I have been thrown out of bands... I posted about it many times in the past. Why... my Mark Wahlberg "Rockstar" attitude. I always demanded perfection and unfortunately it didn't work out when playing with bandmates who just wanted to have fun and jam. I have always played guitar to prove a point and make a statement. I don't play for the fun of it. I don't enjoy playing unless the band I am in is perfect. My band Fools Faith has been a dream come true to me because I am blessed to be playing with 3 musicians who are at the top of the food chain in regards to all aspects of music. My attitude comes from being a classically trained pianist from the age of 10. I was a child prodigy and had a TON of pressure put on me to perform flawlessly at that young age. I played at Lincoln Center in NYC at the age of 10. I performed Moonlight Sonata... if I recall it was around 21 pages. Regarding being "that good"... c'mon bro, I just posted in this thread that there are plenty of players here that make me second guess all the practicing I have done in the past 30 years. There are so many great players on the web that have not been discovered its very sad. Many of them are here. The Ibanez website has many monster players too. Youtube is loaded with them.
I am busting balls because you are attacking me. The more you attack.. the more I bust. Its simple. I have a ton of stamina. The problem is that you have a ton of stamina too.
I know how to push your buttons and you know how to push mine. There are only a few JCF'rs here that can handle my responses. You.. are one of them. Why don't you join my bands fan club. It might help ease the tension between us as long as you can put up with mediocre songs and bland guitar solo's. Here is a little bit of trivia.. its actually harder to write and play bland guitar solo's than to play the meedly meedly meedly ones.
Now.. can we please drop this? I feel like I just got my ass kicked. Your good kid. Real good.

What lack of success? My last gig had almost 25 people at it. Unfortunately... 20 of them were the 3 other bands we played with.
You have to admit I have been very successful reviewing the countless amps I have owned through the years. I am also really good at changing strings on double locking trem guitars. Sometimes.. I can tune my guitar to 430 pitch without using a tuner. I think thats pretty good.
I can flick a pick really far too. I got laid a ton in the 80's when my band was touring with TS and Zebra. Thats pretty successful.
I can fix my own guitars and amps too. I was called back for a second audition during the open auditions to replace Randy Rhoads for the Speak of the Devil tour. I didn't get the gig though. It couldn't have been my attitude because I didn't get to say a word. Thats almost successful.
I have done alot of other successful and semi-successful things too in the past 30 years of playing.
Oh yea... I forgot.. my band traveled 4 hours to play the Boston Music Festival and there was 6 people in the club total.
I am actually not that obscure. Lets make a list.. shall we??
I opened for Twisted Sister and Zebra for a year.
I recorded the guitar track in Billy Ocean's Carribean Queen at Power Play Studio's in Queens. I think it was a #1 song.
I did all the guitar tracks for The Fat Boys. I did many tracks for Brenda Reed, Lloyd Price and Ben-e-King.
I had an interview with Bud Kreager who was Foreigner's tour manager to open for them worldwide for their Jukebox Hero tour. It was cool sitting in his office in Times Square with the actual jukebox in the lobby and all the gold and platinum albums everywhere. We didn't get the gig because my band CAGE was to heavy.
I won several guitar wars and guitarmeggedons locally.
One of my songs in the 80's AFTERSHOCK was on the radio (on the cart) all summer. (we had to pay off the DJ with a copy machine though)
My band Fools Faith just won a national contest using the songs that I wrote. Thats pretty cool.
So... if we add up all the things I posted (there are many more regarding the piano) I guess you are right. I haven't really accomplished much in 30 years of trying to make it in this business. BTW.. thats not a joke.
You have to admit one thing though... many guys my age would have given up a long time ago. I still rehearse with my band once a week, I write constantly and we record every chance we get. I also practice a fair amount too but its more for the writing.
My band has a gig coming up on May 16th that is going to be packed. I might even get stage fright playing in front of actual people. I am so used to playing for empty dives. I actually don't enjoy playing live as much as my bandmates do. I prefer to write and record. Actually.. I never have been a fan of playing live except for the groupies. Thats probably a major reason why I have had minimal success.
I will say that all the radio interviews we have been doing lately have all been extremely positive in regards to the new direction our music has taken and there have been many positive remarks on my "bland, mediocre" guitar playing. It seems that the less notes I play.. the more they like it. I wonder if that means I suck. I guess it could.
I don't have an attitude unless I am provoked and a few JCF'rs have provoked me in this thread that started off with me joking about a song that I thought was posted as a goof.
                                This is a tough crowd.
