Part 1a - Pebber Brown teachingyou some vital infoon picking techniques
He fixed lots of problems for me, but I was stuck in limbo between techniques for a couple of weeks and couldn't play crap. It was worth it tho. The "scalpel picking" that I learned has helped a lot. One of these days I'll actually take lessons instead of trying to figure it all out myself.
Jackson DK2 (trans blue)
Jackson DKMGT, EMG-Hz (trans black)
Ibanez SZ520QM (blue)
Esteban American Heritage (HSN special)
Fender Precision 1982 w/EMG P&J (road worn for real)
WTF!?...Pebber Brown videos..??...you mean Peter North...Right?!
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!
"Well, your friend would have Bell's Palsy, which is a facial paralysis, not "Balls Pelsy" like we're joking about here." Toejam's attempt at sensitivity.

OK seriously..I've seen the best of the best in my 30+ years..well most of 'em.
The most expressive and dynamnic player I ever witnessed in my life is this man..
watch and learn..
Wow. Once again, Horns, I'm speechless. Unfortunately there wasn't much instructive value in that. It was more like [EFFEMINATE GERMAN ACCENT] "Look at me while I do ziss awesome ting." [/EFFEMINATE GERMAN ACCENT]
After two years of playing, I'm looking for things that teach sound technique. So far my favorites for technique are Justinguitar.com and the Pebber Brown vids on YouTube. Any other suggestions?

One time I farted and filled my undies with brown pebbles.
The problem with learning from Uli is when he plays 'slowly' it's still faster than I can play and when he plays full speed it looks like he coudn't possibly be playing that fast with that little motion. Yngwie is like that too. F those F'ers!

Let me restate my point -- Uli is not a good instructor at an early stage of playing. It's rather like taking beginner driving lessons from Mario Andretti. He's trying to teach heal & toe, trail braking, and exiting the apex before someone knows how to shift.
I mean, he's holding a 32-fret eight-string guitar fer cryin out loud!

The key is looseness, just check out how lose are the muscles on 100m sprinters, the same applies for playing an musical instrument as it's a physical activity. . Holding the pick loosely yet firmly and playing it more with the feel like you'd do some James Brown chords causes very little stress and helps you to build up more speed. The master of picking - Al Di Meola has very loose and relaxed technique yet he has incredible speed and attack.
thanks for the advice, I don't play when I am under stress it makes me ay like shit. I also use some dava pics, they are very soft
