  • Bachs Prelude In C Minor

After getting speed mechanics I learnt about rolling your finger for the adjacent string (Wow eh?). Now, for a song like this and the opening 2 bars is a good example (if you're using the guitar pro version from mysongbook), I would roll my pinky finger for skipping a string. Does that seem the most effective way to do it or am I missing something in my newbie ways?

The sequence is something like this

    8 - - - - - - - E string
    - - - - - - - - B string
    - 8 7 8 5 8 7 8 G String

I'm no expert, but I'd use my pinky on the high E string and play the rest with my 1st, 2nd and 3rd fingers

Do whatever feels best. I bar the 8th fret with my pinky and put pressure on the e-string when needed, but what works for me won't necessarily work for you.

I would put my big toe on the high E...

          ha Just Kidding!

I would roll my pinky. Also, try playing these things in other registers or positions on the neck and you will find out a lot of interesting possibilities.
