Prog metal. Still trying to refine where at in this genre I reside. It's hard being heavily influenced by Dream Theater, and write something that doesnt sound influenced by them, at least to my ears.

Hoping to soon have our own niche in this style... it's just so hard to shake what moves you the most.

I favor the 80s LA hair bands. But lately I have been getting into 70s rock. Also working a little on classical, one of these days my right hand will figure out what to do without a pick.

Death, Black, 'Viking' -metal (Enslaved etc.), and 80's like WASP.

I play all sorts of stuff in the first place.. metal/blues/classical etc..

but my main style is probably a mix of Malmsteen/Children of Bodom

Most of the "Metal" I play nowadays is very silly, obscure stuff with black and death metal type riffs.

Right now in my band we play metalcore,it's basically a mixture of Unearth, Killswitch Engage, Lamb Of God, Meshuggah and other stuff. We're called Sound Of Silence.

its gotta be dark, heavy and evil sounding. the last couple of years most of the stuff i was writing was kinda mid tempo and very melody and groove driven. lately i'm getting back to my roots by playing faster and more angry. Quirky trashy-deathmetal, but none of this modern-retroshit, Angelcorpse shaking hands with Deströyer666 & Coroner, weird time-signatures with slow riffs played fast & the other way around. Plus some chaotic/bubbling leads on on top. At home I'll play anything, some blues and 70-80's punk rock stuff as well.
