Help with tuning on cover song

I hope this is the right place for this question.

I learned S.O.S. my Motley Crue. Does any one know if the Crue plays it in Drop D tuning in the key of G or are they tuned down a full step and play it A ???

I think it is eaiser to play in A but I was wondering how the crew does it. thx

its a whole step down on every crue song.
