All a metronome needs to do is to tick, really. You could get a $900 one, but a $10 would serve you equally well.

Hey paulbag, I went through the same thing about 6 months ago. I didn't care for the Tascam, I thought it muddied way too much when slowing down. But the biggest problem I had was that I couldn't hear my guitar plugged into the input with the volume all the way up! I got Amazing Slow Downer software ($39 I think) and it's way better than the Tascam. Needless to say, I returned it.

NOTP - I just tried the Media Player thing and it works pretty well. Thanks!

did you have the first or second version of the guitar trainer? i got the mkII but i still think i'll be returning it and using the money elsewhere, new pups or maybe a drum machine like its been suggested...

yeah i guess the mkII is better but still not worth the $150.00, it's going back saturday.
