  • What if B-C and E-F were like the rest of the

    notes?

    Would that change Theory a whole lot and loose a lot of quirks?

    Why does that happen? Or why did they do it that way?

    They just did it that way so that the major scale had no flats or sharps. It doesn't really matter what the notes are called, they would still sound the same.

        Well, Tonality would be a much more weaker concept (no natural major/minor chords for starters). Something along these lines has been tried with 12-tone music/serialism - an acquired taste and Katzenmusik until then.
