Re: check this out!!

Its cool yeah, but I think the best way is to learn how to construct the scales and chords (I am not saying I can do this lol)!

Re: check this out!!

OK, help me out here, I must be clueless tonight.

why does the neck model have a bunch of different number dots all over for a given chord? like D, it has dots showing 5, 3 and 1 in the normal D chord fingering position, but then it has a ton of other numbered dots all over the rest of the neck schematic. why? what do the 5, 3 and 1 mean and how do they relate to that common fingering of D?

maybe I'm just stoned, but I can't figure out how to read this.

Re: check this out!!

The 1,3, and 5 are the notes that make up the chord. For D Major 1 is D, 3 is F#, and 5 is A. So each place where there's a 1 is a D, each 3 is an F#, and each 5 is an A.

thanks for the explanation, but I think I'll stick with TABs at this point in my development.

Wasn't someone asking about piano scales/fingerings a while back?
Click the Home link and you can choose Beginner guitar stuff as well as piano stuff, and both of those run a MIDI Java app using your computer's MIDI driver.

click the box that says: "Display note names".
It changes from
"Display intervals" to "Display note names"
