Yep, the March issue. Andy Aledort gives a video lesson & goes through all the parts full speed & slow. His tab is damn good, too.

              Re: crazy train solo

I think I have a copy of Andy Aledort's previous attempt from a few years ago. The one where he tabs out the double tracked guitars as one guitar. If I can find it I'll scan it and post. It's laughable!

But this latest issue's version is much better. Funny that it's the same guy. I bet some schlep has to do all the transcribing and Andy Aledort just gets all the credit...lol.

Top transcription from Andy Aledort and Jimmy Brown, Jan 2005 issue. Bottom transacription from Andy Aledort, March 2006 issue. Does anyone know anyone that plays the tapping part of the solo like in the 1st transcription?!

                  Re: crazy train solo

I play it in that position on the second string, but the transcription is a little off... probably an editing thing. It's pretty close though. You can kinda figure it out for yourself. That particular lick isn't all that hard. Here's my take on it:

I'm not happy with the final run in there, but oh well...

                    Awesome!

I play it in on the second string as well, but the tapping pattern is definitely like the 2nd transcription.

Here you go. If someone else can host this, that would be great. I only have pretty crappy DSL.

You mean you can't find this backing track on YOUR computer? Gee, that's odd!

No, I'm an idiot. Here's the real link:

                            ftp://71.112.33.149/Crazy%20Train%20Backing.mp3

(this is the backing track that came from the Jan 2005 GW CD)

                              Re: crazy train solo

I play it on the second string like the first example but the tapping pattern from the second example is more accurate.

Is anyone else getting tired of GW transcribing the same songs? I mean, Crazy Train twice in a little over a year and they've done it before too. AIC "Them Bones" was done around april 03, then again a little over a year later (around june or july 04). Come on, pick some other songs! It's not like ozzy and aic have a shortage of great songs to choose from.
