• The most agressive guitar lick...

What do you think is the most agressive guitar lick. I am not talking specifically about tone, I am talking about the actual mechanics of the lick itself.
My vote goes for Scuttle Buttin by SRV.
The 2 bends in that lick are vicious.

This riff in "Fight Fire With Fire" by Metallica has always been my fav. The way it is produced and sounds on the CD makes it tough to figure out by ear. I have seen them 5 times and never have I seen this one live.

I bend the 1st one and do a 3-5 slide on B string on the 2nd one instead of a bend. When I 1st learned it, I couldn't tell what he was doing because the lick went by so fast, so I did the slide.

But recently I played it through a slow downer, and I'm pretty sure he does a bend. But I still slide. What's that saying about old dogs?

Its definately 2 bends. 1st note and the 4th one. That riff is wicked and much harder to nail than it sounds.

i dont know if i would consider this the most aggressive lick ever but this one comes to mind: metallica's damage inc. the breakdown riff before the solo that jumps back and forth from palm muting the E and hitting single notes on the A. the riff with the lyrics "we chew and spit you out, we laugh you scream and shout, all flee with fear you run, you'll know just where we come from..." over it. cant really explain it better than that, hope you know what im talking about, haha.

Gotta agree with Damage Inc, FFWF, also: Dyers Eve,, pure agression in that!

Iced Earth - Travel in Stygian, just all out bad ass riffs all around, but the best one is the superfast breakdownriff right before the second fast solo, that's an insane riff.

As far as actual 'licks' go, SRV is a sure contender, the man had such an explosive playing style, truly awe-inspiring.

John Sykes shred-blues lick where he does 4 or 5 step bend, picks like a motherfucker and then does his squeal with his ultra wide vibrato.

I know its not a lick but nonetheless I love each time I hear it and it never gets old. Not sure if it can be classified "agressive", still I think it kicks.
The solo's from Mr Crowley - Randy's version.
Good stuff.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

the opening sequence to Viv Campbell's solo in Egypt (The Chains Are On). The rest of the solo is a bit of a letdown after it, but it gets off to a great start.

Roy Buchanan from the album Livestock, the song Roys Bluz, start of the solo. The inventor of pinch harmonics. The blues can be aggressive too. or anything from Yngwie's first two albums

the 1st riff after the big "grand funk" intro in Metallica's "Hit the Lights". granted it was completely inspired by early Mercyful Fate. but it's aggressive as shit.
