Hey guys, as my work in college has increased I notice that I no longer can afford to play guitar 27 hours a day anymore, in fact I find that I can barely pick the thing up. I have some speed in my both hands for galloping and solo'ing, so should I expect to lose it? or does the muscle memory stay in place? its kinda scary to think that I will lose what I have worked pretty freakin hard on the past 6 years.

nahh mate you will be fine,doenst take too long to get the fingers back in shape.You will be a bit rusty but thats all and after a short warmup the muscle memory kicks in

Yeah the fingers can get back into shape - when you have the time to do so.

Don't worry about it. Initially you will lose some of it.
I didn't play a note for almost 20 years and it took me about 6 months (playing about one hour a day ) to get back
to form. If I could've played 3 hours a day everyday it would've taken no time to get it all back.If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?Comment

everything you learn in your mind will still be there, but you're fingers will be crappy..
Im in the same instance, I work so much now, and the rest of my days is sleeping.. so my leads I worked soo hard to learn are all sloppy now, but least I still know where the notes are so it just takes abit of rust-wearing off to get back to where I wasComment
