Seriously considering going - timing's a problem though. Long trip from the south coast, but hey, someone's gotta do it. Going to give PMT a call & check my work calendar tomorrow to see if tickets are still available & if I'm busy or not. I missed Petrucci at Sound Control in London, & kicked myself for weeks.

If I played guitar like George Lynch I would pound my hands with a hammer and spare the world.

Ace, I enjoy reading most of the stuff you post on this board. It is usually either funny, entertaining, or just plain interesting.

But dude, I gotta disagree with you on this. Lynch is a god. I'm hoping you were kidding and just trying to get a rise out of us Lynch fans (like 80% of the board JCF members).

+1 Big D....Lynch is definitely one of the best around. Sorry Ace-but you gotta give props where props are due, and Lynch is most certainly due.

Re: George Lynch guitar dojo

i think Ace may be hinting at the state of Georges playing these days. This was mentioned on another thread where myself and others felt that he sounded terrible in a lot of the bootleg clips/live stuff? There is NO excuse for him to ever sound rough, good players like him should be smooth. He used to be the main man and lynchmob killed all with their two albums for great tunes and fucking amazing solos full of passion. He seems to me to have lost that passion, but i keep hoping he will get it back
and BTW i wonder if he realy will give lessons on his site?would be so easy for a friendly webmaster to do the lessons(tab wise)and even respond to students emails pretending to be him.I know that greg howe did at on stage plan on doing net lessons(and i would sign up straight away)but he then couldnt find the time(so i think?)I cant imagine George finding the time like greg these days

1. apparently on the last tour everyone i know on the GL board said he was totally smoking and had great tone...sound in small clubs can always be slightly dodgy anyways remember...i can't say i'm as big a fan of his recent stuff compared to the classic dokken era stuff but hell he could smoke me with his eyes closed
2. apparently he is giving video lessons and audio lessons whilst being around to answer any questions you have..the first semester starts june 1st i believe...i assume he isn't planning a new album anytime soon, but then i guess a short video lesson isn't gonna take that much of his time...they could easily record an hours worth and split it up over a few weeks...i don't know if i'm gonna sign up yet as i already have tabs for most of the dokken stuff and i have the REh video which haas a shitload of licks in it...but then i may use the time i have atm to work through it all...

lol well the gl board would say that matei have heard people on this board who have seen him recently and they think he played bad(not sounded!tone wise i couldnt realy give a toss)i am refering to his playing not his tone!lol
tone wise every one has their own sound, you cant realy go that wrong.the bootleg stuff i have seen has shown him dying on his arse
