Practicing vocals.

It's not always easy to find a vocalist and it's better and more practical to record your own vocals while doing home records with the computer.I'm sure a lot of people do that.

but the point is,how do you manage to don't suck at singing?do you just sing loudly when there's no one home or something like that?

Might sound ridiculous, but I'm singing all day long, especially at home.

I'll sing along with whatever music I hear all day long (<--good lyric right there btw.)

We'll probably have like 5 different musicsources on in this place, so whenever I go into a room some other piece of music will be playing.

-I'll either sing the lyrics along,
-mimic the melody in high-pitched or extremely low-pitched screams,
-come up with harmonies to whatever you can in the song (melodies, vocals, guitarsolos, etc) and sing them along.
-Come up with your own guitarsolo for songs that don't have one and sing it
- Sing along an existing guitarsolo or improvise a harmony or duelling solo to it

Singing a capella without any background music is a very good tool as well. Hell I'll probably be screaming or singing with no music on at all, just for the fun of it. (Nothing like sitting at a fully loaded McDonalds and just doing a halfordesque scream like: 'We aaaaaaaaaaaare Judas Priest, Thank You, Good Niiiiiiiight! )
