i never change pup position during playing, purely for mixing and concentration purposes. in fact, i don't use the neck humbucker very often but i always keep it as a safeguard.
Fuck ebay, fuck paypal
"Finger on the trigger, back against the wall. Counting rounds and voices, not enough to kill them all" (Ihsahn).
I mainly use the bridge, but it depends. The middle position is great for clean'n'smooth. It's not too woolly, whilst rounding some of the bite of the bridge p/u out.
I've always loved players who use their pickup selectors well. Listen to Gary Moore playing Parisienne Walkways. When he flicks from the neck to the bridge pickup during the solo, you know he's just upped the ante and is about open up a big can of hurtin' on you
i love to play leads with my Bridge Pu.I use the Neck PU just for playing mellow stuff. And believe me ,i do it really one a month or so!
A KE1 is the perfect guitar for me.1 hum. and a coil splitter will do it for me!
All of my four main guitars are H/S/S or H/S, and the singlecoils get used alot. When I was a metalhead kid I couldn´t care less for anything else than a bridge humbucker, but since then I´ve landed solidly in classic rock territory... and now I basically can´t live without singles. I love switching to the neck singlecoil and really digging in hard for some bluesy stuff.
I use the bridge humbucker 99% of the time. I think it speaks better than the neck location...the bridge just sounds more like an electric guitar to me.
For metal or generally for harder sounds I use the
bridge pickup(Seymour Duncan TB4 )
And for the punk stuff I use the neck pick up(Seymour Duncan Jazz™ SH2N)
This is when I`m right with this:
Position 1. Bridge Pickup --The toggle is turned down(away from me)
Position 2. Bridge and Neck Pickups (middle logically)
Position 3. Neck Pickup--the toggle is turned up towards me...
