High String Muting

Girlyplaya - +1 on what jjw says - watch some of his vids on his website - he can play a bit. When I learned Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love, I played the Am with just downpicks as it's relatively slow & I found I could control the muting & get a chunkier sound better. Alternate picking got a bit messy at times when the muting failed (I still find it harder to mute upstrokes on the higher strings).

jjw - I haven't found Portsmouth Pete yet - asking around bars in Portsmouth for "Pete" makes it sound like I'm cruising - so I stopped. I'll leave that to George Michael. It was upsetting the chickens too I'm still working through the Stetina books (now Speed Mechanics), but picked up the Gambale book you suggested & another one by David (?) Mead that looked ok & covered a bit of ground. Re Jonathon Ross - lol. Maybe it's your initials - Jonathon Woss

LOL shit yeahh mate you dont want to sound like your crusing mate!lolwell done on getting that gambale book-it realy will open your eyes to playing scales and David mead is one of the old school guitar mag instructors,very solid and all round player.remember if your ever up here will teach you for freewhen the band is on the road i will have to target Portsmouth

Still busy with the band you are lucky J , i HAD a band too, but 2 days ago i allmost kicked my drummer into the face , so no band anymore , and no other good enough drummers in little Estonia who have time and skill
