Maybe someone mentioned this (I did not read thru this entire post)There was a cool vid on Youtube of Dime demonstrating this...it was for Young Guns mag from Japan.

I watched a new video of Satch and he seems to do this trick a different way. Instead of hitting the harmonic with his fret hand up the neck, he hits the same node close to the bridge with his picking hand while holding the whammy bar. Really cool one motion trick (think end of intro for Satch Boogie). This is much harder especially if you play different guitars with different pu configs as there are less definite landmarks to go by. There's a fine line between a great squeal and a dying monkey.
