I've been told i sound like Alexi Laiho with Paul Gilberts vibrato.
Exept i'm sloppy as hell and no where near as good as either of them.

my DK2 with a spider 2 112 amp sounds a lot like steve ray vaughan :S
If the crowd is shouting for an encore, but the sound guy is shaking his head, ignore him and play anyway

Hard as I try, I can only sound like me. Or maybe Tony Iommi. I don't know, I've never really TRIED to sound like anyone else.

Bump. I don't want to sound like anybody else either. If you are a serious player you develop your own style, likes, dislikes, tricks, etc...

Nor do I want to play a standard amp that sounds like anyone else or have the same tone as this guy or that guy.

But to each their own. Some guys prefer to play covers and are outstanding at them. Thats fine.

But I am me damn it!
                              PLAY TILL U DIE !!!

I think I have rather piss-poor lead chops compared to most guys on this forum, so it's hard for me to say if my playing resembles that of a known player. But for rhythm, definitely James Hetfield and Scott Ian. I will never be as fast on the downstrokes as Scott, although I have the same kind of aggressive attack. My upstrokes have started getting really chunky as well, much to my liking.
