  • What style does your band play?

    My band is mainly metal/thrash.
    standard or drop d tuning
we use elements of death/black metal, such as rappid spooky picking and half beat breakdowns
Our singer actually sings, but he has a deep voice.
we harmonize cool little scale runs and stuff alot too.
The bass it louder than most other metal bands, and you can really hear it good. The bass doesnt really play a rythem. He plays what the guitars are playing. its really cool.
We're recording our performance tomorrow, and I'll be sure to post some vids. We're playing 27 songs over a course of 2 hours

I play in a melodeath band - fast thrashy riffs, with lots of harmonized melodies, dual sweeppicking and the whole poser stuff, acoustic sections etc.... no clean vocals though, we leave that stuff to Soilwork and In Flames.

My second band plays brutal, nowadays pretty technical death metal. We are recording a self-financed album right now.

Dreaded Silence - Prog/melodic metal influenced by Opeth, Katatonia, Porcupine Tree, Death, etc. A mix of clean and harsh vocals, acoustic parts, a few blasts here and there, etc.

Xasis - Dark acoustic rock, in the vein of Pink Floyd, Ours, Blackfield. Somewhere in between prog and grunge.

Orbiting Oblivion - New thrash/death project I'm working on. A mix of mid-to-late 80s Megadeth, In Flames, Death, Evergrey, and Nevermore. Well, I hope. haha

evil metal. not really death metal, but we are working towards sounding as evil as Devildriver does in "Hold Back the Day"

usually in drop C or on my 7 string tuned down to G standard ahaa

                              rock/pop/alt covers.

I'd love to play in a more aggressive rock/metal band, but I'm in LA and I would never get to play out doing that.

gotta play what's popular to get gigs.
the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives
