Lately I've been grooving on D standard on my new DK2. I've already written 2 songs on it and I've taken one from Eb and transposed it down and it sounds even better.

My other 2 tunings I dig are Eb and C standard. I only play in E standard if I'm playing along to Maiden CD or something.

I perfer Eb. I use 9-42 strings Fender 250's. I just got into Drop D last year. It's fantastic. 440 Drop D is cool. I perfer to be flat so Db is what I like.

I also will tune to the correct tuning if I'm learning a song like Bullet for my Valentine or Nickleback. They both tune differently. You need multible guitars tuned for different things if you want to play covers. Sucks but thats how it is.

Open E. I cheat by using my Boss GT-8's tuner.

The two guitars I most often use live are tuned to standard. I'll drop-d them occasionally because I like to write originals with that tuning. My LP studio is in drop-c. My LP classic is in Eb. I pretty much cover the spectrum of tunings with my guitars setup like this. I have no real preference for one tuning over the other other. My only beef is setting up a Floyd Rose for alternate tunings. FR is fun but I'd take a fix bridge over them any day.

Grover Jackson Soloist: C# with a drop B
