I can pop harmonics just about anywhere on the fretboard at about any time....just about the only thing I can do well.

Since I am into Thrash/Death Metal(And some Rockabilly, but this has nothing to do with that)I guess I have "doubled"up Power Chords for a Different Attack.I have done it since 1989.IDK the technical term, but something like this:

                    D---5------------7-----
                    A---3------------5-----
                    E---1------------3-----

And also My "Palm Mute" Picking.Very Good. I still to this day have problems with Arpeggios. My picking "sweep" is way faster than my Fret hand. I need to sit down with a Metranome and practice that.
Or another one is (At Standard Tuning)
                    G--------5----------
                    D--------3-------5---
                    A--------3-------3---

My trademark is accenting certain bends by hitting the strings hard with a solid pick.

I'm self-taught, so my knowledge is sketchy, so correct me if I'm wrong...those're simple sus2's and sus4's (respectively). Usually chords take the 1st, 3rd and 5th notes of a scale. Here, the 3rd note in the scale is missing in each (the note that makes it sound major or minor), and the 2nd (one tone [2 frets] up) or 4th (2.5 tones [5 frets] up) is added. The 2nd and 4th are the same in both major and minor, so it's tonally quite neutral (although a bit more interesting than a powerchord). Your sus4's lack the 5th, so I suppose technically they're diads...you could add the 5th back in without altering the sound of the chord very significantly like this:

                            G-7-
                            D-5-
                            A-3-
                            E-3-

                            or

                            G-5-
                            D-5-
                            A-5-
                            E-3-

Perhaps not very death metal sounding

Those're both the same notes, just in a different order. I'm not being very strict here, I suppose that first chord I gave is really a 12th (5th up an octave), but I don't really care that much, I just use a mixture of maths and ears.

sus2's and sus4's are common, although interestingly it's only of recent that sus2's stopped sounding dissonent and starting fitting fluidly into music. I suppose (yet again!) that that makes them more dissonant than flat 5ths!

When downtuned they sound sweet and add alittle variance on the riff.
