It's all downpicks except for that last bit. Why play it that way? It sounds different than if you used alternate picking. It's not that hard to build up to that speed anyway; my band used to do a cover of Puppets at 240bpm (the album is around 200 IIRC).

Fight Fire With Fire is the hardest for me. I think it is because it sounds different when I play it versus the CD. I guess it is the studio mix of the guitars. If I play with the CD then it sounds like I have nailed that tough riff on the head but play it with no backing music and it does not sound correct.

The Blackened opening riff is exhausting when using "just" downstrokes(can't use downstrokes for the triplet though, I refuse to believe Hetfield does that), not hard. The Dyers Eve intro is a pain in the ass to get exactly right. MOP is also just a matter off stamina, as most of Metallica's fast riff from their thrash period is. As for Megadeth, that a completely different story, a lot of hard to get right riff there, and way more complicated than the Metallica catalouge for the most.

Well it´s all down picking and Hetfield is best on that.

Practice those parts with alternate picking and I defy anyone to tell the difference when played at massive volume levels with massive distortion.

I've always had trouble with the main riffs on Battery and Creeping Death.

And I've never tried it, but Fight Fire With Fire seems like it would be difficult.

I've always found Hit the Lights to be tough. But then again, I don't try to play it too often.

What is with Creeping Death? (That one tought motherf...r) and
                          Battery isn`t also that easy
                          still waiting, loud mouth.

Well I didn`t take the time...
I will play it for Mr. Naz live when we get together to play a little jam or something...
and btw: I`m not a guy that likes to brag...
I will maybe record it when I get a digital cam that can record videos with sound...
The one that my sister has can record only audio...
I want to record it with backing track but when I do it through reaper the sound
get`s fucked up ... don`t know why ... I think because I have a bad audio card or something..
Come one it`s not so fast ... just practice it a couple times!...
And play punk... I guess that helped me...

btw: the Blackened riff is like this (saw it in a guitar mag today that I had it was a Hetfield workshop with interview)

                            I think St.Anger is a really hard one :S..:
I just don`t get the motion, allthought I never really practiced it...

I just don't find the Blackened riff all that difficult until the last 5 notes.
