  • George Lynch's Guitar Dojo, anyone in it?

I was considering joining it. Can someone tell me, from their experience, how it is?

    thanks

I've thought about it on several occasions and may yet.
However, joining hasn't really struck me that hard to go ahead and sign up.

For me, its mostly a lack of advertising the "what else" dojo thing.
I know I'm gonna get to do some playing at some point, and interact with other players, BUT, what else? To play and interact with other players, I do that most days...why would I want to pay someone to do that?

Its the "what else" with me at this point thats keeping me from signing up.
Bad advertising imo from the lynch camp to stir and generate curiosity, just not enough information. If I knew what the "what else" was I might be alot more interested.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

It might teach you some cool stuff from Lynch, but you can find free lessons all over the internet. Not worth it IMO.
I'm gonna eat your brains and gain your knowledge.

I don't want to dismiss Lynch (I like the old Dokken albums), but I saw his performance at MusikMesse (euro Namm) last year, and it was so bad, people were leaving the room. And that was the day reserved for pros. The next day apparently it was a bit better, but still way under a guitar hero performance. I was expecting to be blown away, but after that I will never spend a dime in G.L. Guitar Dojo.

Curious what the cost is for this type of thing?

I saw George 4 times in the late 80s with Dokken, simply amazing, but that was almost 20 years ago, no idea how his playing is now. Got his autograph at one show and we tailed their tour bus afterwards to see if they were going anywhere local to party, but they soon hit the interstate for their next gig.

?? 30 bucks a month isn't bad. That's what a single 1/2 hour lesson (1 hour maybe) with some local dude would cost.

Lynch is awesome, but his playing has suffered as a result of his heavy lifting. I asked him if the lifting affected his playing and he said he has lost some dexterity. Not what he was but he still smokes.
