I'm doing an exercist with strings 6-3, and I have to palm mute everything. Man, it's difficult for me because I'm always afraid I'm putting too much pressure on the floyd. How lightly should my hand rest over the strings when palm muting over the floyd.

If you rest your right hand forward slightly (like right over the bridge posts), you can apply a bit more pressure without your intonation going out of whack._________________________________________________

The only way you are going to screw it up for real is if you whip a screwdriver out or "Townshend" it against the floor._________________________________________________

So basically it will only affect the notes I'm playing at the time I'm putting the pressure on it then? Just the way people talk to me about it, it's like their jaws drop when I say on my old fender I would rest my hand on the bridge, like that would destroy a floyd rose lol.Last edited by TheMightyMaiden; 06-29-2007, 10:51 PM.

I anchor my hand to my floyds and I don't go sharp.
you need to find the 'sweet spot" on the bridge and of course use a light tough. You can also add an additional spring to tighten thinngs up or block the bridge so it only dives down.If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?
