Re: Locrian

Here is a Locrian pattern using open E. Locrain is the 7th mode of the Major Diatonic scales. It's also the only note that is Diminshed in them. It's also a half step flat of the root, Ionian.

Scale:
E-----------------------0-1-3
B--------------------1-3-----
G----------------0-2-3-------
D-----------0-2-3------------
A------0-1-3-----------------
E-0-1-3----------------------

Chord:
E-----
B-----
G-----
D--2--
A--1--
E--0--

Triad:
1 b3 b5
E Gb Bb

Hope that helps some!

Re: Locrian

Locrian, in the key of E, will be the following notes:

E F G A Bb C D E

or the formula:

R b2 b3 4th b5th b6th b7th R

I like to group my scales into 3-note per string scales if at all possible.
