I know it’s a variation of D, but I cannot find it in any of my chord books and I know I didn't invent it. I have zero musical theory knowledge so if this is an obvious answer please forgive me.

D sus4 add9, I think... the G is the 4th, the E is a 9. Going from memory here... I'm toiling at work.

there's no 6th.. Pete and Drip are right, Dsus4(9)
