Learn your diatonic modes, they'll give you a MUCH bigger understanding of how diatonic, and all related types of scales work.

i can host it on my server, either e-mail it to me ([email protected]) or upload it to my server, ftp.razorback.ca/incoming , i'd be glad to make it available to all.

Re: Need advice on visualizing the entire fretboard

Here´s my experience with minor pentatonic: First pattern is for shure the one you know the best (soundin & playin), right? First step:
Play next patter an previous one, trying to visulize the "edges" of first pattern & how the other two "fits". Once you can plya this three fluently add two more (one at the begining & one at the end of this group). There you are the five.
Keep in mind you should "see" how the "edges" fit each other. That's visualyzing the entire fretboard.
              Step Two: One string scale.
This helps to jump from one to other pattern
Step Three: play some ascending/descending riff using two strings of one patter and the next/prev two strings of the previous/next one. Add some strings/jumps. This is for developeing fretboard runs.
Play the patterns individualy for better/faste fingering.
