Theory guys, need some help

I want start adding some string skipping ideas into my playing. Does anyone know the theory behind the licks Paul starts playing at around 1:05 in this video?

Stevo...just use your arpeggios/scales for string skiping. Here's a few ideas thrown together but I do this kind of stuff all the time. Note: this is really just a series of things i do and not meant as a continous piece of music...I just threw it into guitar pro as one file
