Ok here's my deal. I'm 45 years old. I picked up guitar at age 12 and began playing in bands at age 15. I played up until my band decided to call it quits, after 14 years and fewer places to play, we agreed it was a good idea. So my stuff sat and gathered dust for a while. So... I sold it all....(<---- insert "DUMBASS" sign here). And hadn't played for 8 years until about 2 weeks ago.
Well in the meantime, my diabetes got bad, my kidneys have failed and I am now a full-time dialysis patient. I have diabetic neuropathy of the feet/legs and hands, I have to use a walker to get around now. The neuropathy has caused a loss of strength in my fingers, especially my thumbs.....which leads me to the following question for help, tips, advice....:
I have a very tough time holding a pick between my thumb/forefinger. Any ideas on how to keep a pick stationary? Any modifications to my picks? Or technique? ANY advice would be sooooooo appreciated! My left hand still remembers all the notes, just need to build back the dexterity.
Thanks for hearin me out! Rock On!
