Large Rounded Triangle Clayton 1.26's for me, I counter having a thin pick by angling the pick like Paul Gilbert does, I find with a large triangle its not as sharp a surface, which for leads helps your tone as well as string skipping sections, which I play alot of. Also with a large triangle you can rotate it when you wear it out, which I wear mine out alot, I have a bag of like 1000 of them.

I used Dunlop 3mm Big Stubbies for years but when my set-up and guitars changed, I didn't like the "tink tink tink" sound in the attack. I switched to a Ibanez standard 1mm pick with sandpaper for no-slip grip. I just ordered another 125 of them yesterday. Unlike Big Stubbies, I do eventually wear down the point on them but I put those in a different jar so I can file points back on them when I can't get them any more. Worst comes to worst, I can always attach my own sandpaper to regular picks.

The cool thing about guitar pics is, that while there are so many variations available, most cost about 25 to 50 cents each.
Right on.

Medium gauge.
Not all of them but most, I cut/shave them down to a small circle that fit in between my thump and index where the eye can't see any of the pick.
About the size of a dime maybe a touch bigger but not much.
Same think as choking up on the pick but more extreme.
It forced me (years ago) to deal with my clumsy and very poor pick hand technique and bad picking habits. In other words, in forces better control and pick dynamics.
Its the best I ever did for my picking hand.
Its something you gotta want to do because there's (it least for me) a huge learning curve of "feel" to adjust to.Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

I change picks more than I change condoms (I probably shouldn't have mentioned that). Right now I'm on a binge of Claytons 1.00mm. They have great tone and great versatility, you can perform aggressive and clean picking with a very chunky rhythm.Originally posted by horns666The only thing I choke during sex is, my chicken..especially when I wanna glaze my wife's buns.

I'll bring this thread back up, simply don't want to start a new one for a simple answer.
Would anyone know what the heavy Dunlop Celluloid Classics are in mm? I find their Light/Medium/Heavy/XHeavy categorization a pain in the arse when most of the other stuff they have is in mm.Its all fun and games till you get yogurt in your eye.; -AK47
Guitar is my first love, metal my second (wife...ehh she's in there somewhere). -Partial @ Marshall
