  • I found a technique

Grab your guitar or bass turn on your amp with some effects grab your remote control press and hold a button and swirl it around over your pickups pointing at them of course, make sure you don't press a button that's gonna turn off what you're watching on tv.

        Well, I tried it.

You had to play around with the angles a bit, but once you find the sweetspot, that's when it gets interesting. Some buttons, as expected, are more fun than others. What I found the best, were the Prgramme up/down, the volume, 5, 6, 8, AV, and the various buttons that I never use like the subtitles and such. It gets really interesting cranked up high (the effect is really silent. You have to push the volume up a bit) with heavy delay. Nice find mate!

Oh, and single coils and full humbuckers didn't show that much of difference.

Well, I was never interested in "guitar tricks" as such, so I wouldn't know too many. Who cares if you can make your guitar sound like an elephant, a bike, make it chime like a bell, putt your mobile phone to it or run your metronome across it. To me, a guitar has to sound like a guitar.

But no, never tried this before. Thought about it a good while ago, never bothered to try out, haha.

lol, if I want my axe to sound like an elephant/grizzlybear, or some monster from space, I just hit the distortion to 11 out of 10, and divebomb the hell out of the trem for 15 seconds till I get sick of the noise

and to think people play like that all the time FOR their signature sound--oy vey!!

Yesterday is history; tomorrow is a mystery; but today is a gift; that's why it is called the present.

Does this work for actives? I would hope not considering actives are supposed to not be affected by stuff like that. Though i wouldn't call it a technique...
I hooked up my accelerator pedal in my car to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

It works with actives... they've still got magnets and wire around the pickup like a passive pickup, just with an internal preamp.
And I know it works with actives, because I've got guitars with EMGs and the Duncan Dave Mustaine LiveWires.
